My first semi/dance in general last night!
I HAVE to say- I had more fun last night than I ever had in MY LIFE. My date ended up being the sweetest guy… he came to my house exactly when he said he would. His mom, my parents, my sisters, and my cousin and aunt were all there and they took a couple pictures and he gave me a corsage and I gave him that thing you give to the guys. I don’t remember what it’s called. and he just stayed and we all talked for a while. I was SO nervous but I think he was too so it made me feel better.
Then his mom started to drive us to the dance but we realized we were like a half an hour too early so we drove to a town close by that’s known for its authentic Christmas decorating to see if anybody had their lights set up yet. We didn’t see any but we still had a really nice conversation during the drive and by the time his mom pulled up to the school we were on time.
He said I looked really pretty and I told him he looked good, too. His mom really approved of my dress, especially when she saw some girls as the front of the school dressed like “skanks.” I loved my dress, too. So pretty! Plus a family friend of ours did my hair and she really loves me so she made sure my hair looked fantastic! Ahaha she’s super nice!
So we went inside (after dodging like 20 party buses ) and I couldn’t see any of my friends so he waited with me while I waited for them to come. Oh, and he got a random breathalyzer test. So did a lot of my friends, though...
When I finally found my friends they were all SO SO SO fun to hang around with! At first I didn’t want to dance because it was too awkward… and all my friends were boogying it down! I ended up actually ditching them for a while When I caught sight of a completely different group of friends that I also love. Even though I danced with them for like a half and hour, after a while I kind of felt a little odd with them (don’t get me wrong, I’m really close with them) so I went back to my old group who I felt was a lot more excited to see me for some reason...
All the girls seemed to break in down together and all the boys were in a little group right next to us bustin’ some moves… but we still conversed with them. Plus, one of the guys who is like the funniest person ever kept on coming up to the girls and dancing with them instead! I seriously love him… he is way too funny. And even though my date has never been involved with my group at all, they were so open to him and he was so outgoing with them that it was hard to imagine that they never talked before!
After a while all the guys left for some reason and that’s when the first slow dance came on… the guys were gone so me and one of my girl friends started dancing together! But then the guys came aaaaaaaaaaaaannddddd… I HAD MY FIRST SLOW DANCE! The song was “I’ll Be” but I don’t know who the singer is… I LOVE the song, though. I never thought It’d be my first slow dance. I told my friend she was the first person I slow danced with, though, and she was so happy.
After a while my feet started to kill so me and pretty much every single girl at the dance went barefoot and we continued getting down and funky ahaha. Then the second slow dance came on which was TOTALLY my history teacher’s request because he LOVES the song for some reason. Again, I danced with my date but there was SUCH a height difference once I took off my heels! I promised him I’d put them on for the next slow song, but I forgot. and the next slow song just so happened to be the LAST one, so I kinda messed that one up ahaha. And “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” concluded the dance... again, a song I ADORE.
But they lied... they said that was the last song of the night but once they turned the lights on they started playing “Don’t Stop Believing” by: Journey and three of my girl friends, my crazy guy friend and my date all ran to the middle of the dance floor and started belting out the lyrics! Best timesss!!
Then my date and I were gonna go to Cravings for ice cream. My friends had offered in school that day to take me to the Cheesecake Factory with them and even though I LOVE LOVE LOVE that place ever since I went there that ONE TIME on my birthday this year I told them I already promised my date I’d go to ice-cream with him. I was excited for the ice-cream, but I was still kind of sad I didn’t get to go with my friends. That is why I was so surprised when he asked me if I wanted to go with them! I told him it was fine, but he seemed persistent so I said okay if it was alright with him! His mom was going to pick us up so he needed to call her and ask if the change of plans was alright while me and the girlsss went into the bathroom for girly chat ahaha. We surprisingly had an awesome time in there and went we came out my date said it was okay with his mom to drive us to the Cheesecake Factory as long as it was okay with my mom! So I called her and of course she said it was fine, too so his mom dropped us off there and I had an AMAZING time!
All I can say is that I LOVE my friends with a burning passion and I found out that my friend I slow danced with and a guy friend of mine have this thing going on where they kind of like each other and kind of don’t but they can’t figure out whether or not they want to go out but they still get jealous when each other talks about other guys or girls! SO CUTE! I’m rooting for them, now! So is like every one of my other friends. Oh god, I love it! Best night EVER!
